Fighting Bay

Replacement of the Ceramic Column, and repainting of the Gantry Frame at the Transpower Fighting Bay building required some 'out of the square' thinking. 

For a start, the location is very remote, being the power link between the North and South Islands.  Only 70km from Blenheim, but located along a forestry road at the furtherest road access point from the Port Underwood Road; Transfield Services engaged Scaffold Marlborough to erect a 10 metre high scaffold on the top of the building.  The scaffold equipment was craned onto the 12 metre high roof by a 100 tonne crane that Transfield Services had driven to the site especially for the job.
